How this works

  1. We query Google Public DNS and Cloudflare DNS over HTTPS for eight record types.
  2. Answers are compared. If they differ, a change is probably still propagating, or the domain uses geo or round-robin DNS.
  3. We read the DNSSEC flag, nameserver count and CAA policy and tell you what to fix first.

Frequently asked questions

How long does DNS propagation take?

Usually minutes, sometimes up to the old record TTL (often 1 to 24 hours). Lower the TTL before a planned change.

Is this a worldwide propagation checker?

No. It compares two big public resolvers. That catches most real problems but is not a map of every country.

Why do A records differ between resolvers?

Load-balanced or geo-aware DNS returns different IPs by location. A mismatch is not always an error.

What is a CAA record?

It lists which certificate authorities may issue SSL certificates for your domain. It is optional but recommended.
